necessities. As regards strength of proposed post at Waughte, Mr. Hertz is being consulted; it is not likely, as regards cost of establishing and maintaining the post, that the figures for post at Htawgaw, viz., 20,000 rupees initial and 4,393 rupees a-month recurring, will be exceeded. We will report further as to cost of post and road as soon as more reliable figures are obtained. It is stated by lieutenant-governor that Wanghte post can be maintained in rainy season as soon as rough track has been completed between Wanghte and Seniku.
